The Ward

N: It would not be a horror flick without a very sexy girl to play a troubled teenager that has been locked away inside an aging ward. It seems that in all cases that all asylums tend to be places governed by ghosts and dark secretes. Kristen is one that has a very dark secret and while she solves her mental issues she becomes torn between the hunting's and the other patients on the ward. People began to disappear. Vanishing into the eerier bowls of the asylum. Yet as we follow along, towards the ending a shocking revelations is reveled and we are left with a sort of shell sock that never goes away. I wish it could. I wish it could....
D: Ahhh, the triumphant return to the crazy house. What more could you want? How about a tale about a luney girl who is admitted to the crazy asylum that is haunted and the said ghost starts a killing spree. All these fun things can be yours in this movie, plus a bonus people! An ending that leaves you asking..."what the french toast?? That's it?!" 
This lovely movie starts off with a interesting beginning and then a nice twist, but the ending just leaves you wondering what was the point? Some of the scenes are cool due to awesome camera editing and little to some gore...but the ending, always the ending! Make it stop! I need a hug...

Giallo

N: I loved Adrien Brody in the "Jacket," but I am somewhat unsure about this films performance. Shot in 2009 this movie is more of a thriller than a horror flick. A serial killer with a vengeance takes his madness out on fair and pretty girls with methodical deviance. Like all serial killers this one likes to kidnap these sexy wemon and ravages them with whatever instrument of torture he can wheel. This modern horror thriller is sort of intriguing in the beginning, but flat lines at the end.

Transylvania 6-5000

N: Beware of Frankenstein and the other monsters when you go to Transylvania. You just might end up like the two reporters in the movie that take an assignment and find themselves being chased by what you would deem as the cult classic of horror monsters. The quips of humor throughout the movie are very typical of a 1985 film, but while I was scared for these fellow reporters the comical interactions between the two reportors was worth my time. Its always fantastic to see some of the old actors on the silver screen.

Haunted honeymoon

N:I remember seeing this awhile back on TV....and I could not help but become enticed to watch it again. Its a Glen Wilder classic at its best. Though the movie is somewhat short it is packed with great classic horror footage that will leave you balling in tears with laughter. Larry Abbot (Glen Wilder) must overcome the fear of getting married and so the solution in this movie was to scare him out of his wits ends so that he could get passed this fear. Check it out. But be careful not to watch during a full moon because a werewolf maybe lurking near by as in the movie Larry is stalked by one that wheels a sharp knife.... 

Aftermath

N: Well I cant say why I decided to watch this horrific film, but can only remark that I must watch every horror/thriller/slasher film so this film came up and I clicked play not really knowing what I was getting myself into.This film shot in Spain, is best describe as being one of the most disturbing films to date that I have seen. Though in retrospect the cinematography was well  done and even not counting that not one single sentence was ushered from the characters during the full 30 minutes that this film ran I can only remark that I am still trying to recover from what I just saw. Yet is that not the nature of horror films I would have to ask. Leave you frightened and scared into a maddening mind bender as graphic images plauge you until your are huanted for the rest of your life?
It makes me wonder what really takes place at the morgue-behind the curtains late at night. This film is so graphic in nature that though I recommend seeing it I will have to put it in cold storage. Warn you of what will take place, and so it will remain in the realm of limbo forever.

Bag of Bones

N: In this television mini series, an older and successful author is suddenly struck with a grave tragedy that puts him over the edge and on the brink of madness. The author Mike Noonan (played by Pierce Brosnan) escapes to his cabin and finds himself not only dealing with sever writers block, but becomes tangled in an estranged mystery that involves supernatural ghosts and hell bent townsfolk that are trying to keep a dark secrete from rising to the surface. I was very impressed with the entire storyline and was captivated as Mike Noonan tried to keep a grip on reality. The effects and character dramatisation was outstanding. I highly recommend this movie, but be careful not to drown in the dark eerie waters...

Dark Shadows

D: Alright our dear fans of Tim Burton and the ever so popular Johnny Depp, we got a classic for you. Well...not so much a classic as a remake of a classic. I give you Tim Burton's version of the popular goth soap classic, Dark Shadows. I know, a soap opera tv show that sounds cool. Impossible. But back in the 60s-early 70s it was.
Now if your fans of the old show you already know a few things, maybe even more. But to those (like me I admit) you only know of the movie. Well it's about a vampire (not a twilighty one) who is trying to bring honor back to his family's name and keep them all together, while trying to gain back his humanity. That is what the movie is about.
Now through out this movie, you get a pretty groovy feeling of a real 70s movie. The way it was made reflects the time beautifully. Even down to the classic vampire makeup that Depp has screams old time vampire flick. There are even many funny and quirky moments that make you chuckle.
Aside from all that, the movie does have some draw backs such as moving events fast and throwing loads of information into one scene instead of dealing it out one by one. But I suppose that's what happens when you are making a movie based off of a five year long series.
My conclusion, I have mixed feelings about this one. I found it good, but unsure if I would want to wait in line for it when it comes out onto DVD...or Blueray..whatever. My suggestion, if your a fan of the old TV series or Tim Burton, go see the movie and compair.. or, just go see it. Its a fun night movie. I still can't believe there was a cool gothy soap opera on and I was never told....what else has been kept from me??

N: If you feel a cold spell creeping down your neck that just might mean that a blood sucking vampire by the name of Barnabas Collins (Depp) is lurking in the shadows. Beware because if he is not stalking you then it must be another one of the crazy Collins. While this dark yet comical filled movie impressed me I felt like something was lacking. I have only seen a few episodes of the TV series and I could defiantly tell that Tim Burton was trying to squeeze the entire series into one film. Though he did pull it off I was a little disappointed in some of the character development. I suggest if you need a midnight snack this would be a movie to see. Just watch out for Barnabas Collins.
