The Broken

N: Drawing more on a thriller based theme; yet this feature film still falls into the allurement of horror genres. No doubt broken shatters the stage with a twisted hemorrhaging of confusion and compelling fear that strikes at you with a vengeance. Alas as Gina in the aftermath of a car crash must put the pieces back together in order to solve a mystery she finds herself agaisnt everyone that she had ever known. A tangled chain reaction that will leave your heart pumping.

The Mothman Prophecies

D: Gather round children for it is time for another of your creepy Aunt D's tributes to a movie of unexplained events, tragedies, and omens that few would heed or believe in. This time I pay tribute to a movie that is suspenseful and intriguing. I speak of course, of....(pause for dramatic music)..The Mothman Prophecies. A tale of woe, loss, and based on true events! This mind blowing movie centers around the stories of the Mothman. For those who don't know who Mothman is...look it up on the internet.
The movie tells the story of a reporter named John who after the loss of his beloved wife ends up in the small town of West Virgina. There he learns that the people of the small town have been having strange encounters with a creature that surprisingly, his wife had seen right before she died. More and more sightings of the Mothman being are soon reported and even visions of tragedies begin to come true. All this leading up to the reason behind Mothman's purpose for being there and the eerie warning that he brings.
I love this suspenseful movie! It's different. It doesn't even need that many special effects to give you that creepy feeling. If you know about the tales of the Mothman, you yourself will enjoy this wonderful movie. And if you don't, well you will still love it. As you may have guessed, I gots it in me movie collection. Why else would I be paying tribute to it? So watch it! Or Mothman will get youuuuu....not unless I get him with a can of bug spray!

Donnie Darko

I think that every time I watch this flick that it becomes stranger and stranger each time. I feel compelled to understand, but my mind just cant wrap itself around the nightmarish scenarios that Donnie is pushed through. Its as if Donnies soul has swallowed himself and the world around him and plunged everyone and everything into an unimagined agonizing reality. A dark realty that induces my mind down a dark eerie rabbit hole.

A Haunting in Salem

N: This move at first glance has all the scares and thrills, but unfortunately in this ill-gotten haunted house horror tale virtually falls into the category a low budget B flick.
Years later a new family inhabits the house that has been scared with death and violence for so long that vengeful spirits of the dammed roam freely on these grounds and take control of the family. Leading one family member at a time to commit murderous acts until everyone has been virtually hanged...
Bad camera angles make me nauseous and low budget acting and props just make me want to bang my head against the wall. Otherwise in  retrospect this film makes me want to drink kerosene and burn myself inside out.

D: It's the D's turn now to spout out her opinion of this wacky pile of expelled bile. Oops, did I give away my feelings on this so called movie. My apologies.
Yes, as my loverly counterpart said before, this movie centers around a family that move into a old historical house in Salem, they learn that there is a curse on it, yada yada yada, blah blah blah. Ugly ghost witches and rounds of insanity. All leading up to the dramatic yet predictable conclusion that leaves you wishing you hadn't wasted over an hour of your life.
I don't need to give you my complete thoughts and feelings for this movie, cause I already did. But I'm gonna banter on anyways. If you want to waste an hour and thirty minutes of your life seeing bad acting, cruddy camera work and a ridiculous plot line. Then by all means, see this movie. But I have this to say to the movie. In the words of Hans Moleman from the Simpsons...'You took an hour and thirty minutes of my life and I want them baaack! Oh well, I'd just waste them anyways'. Just like the movie..Kazzing!

The Possesion

D: Guys and dolls, strap yourselves in, its time for us to put on our constructive criticism hats. And what movie are we reviewing? Why its a exorcism movie that has just come out in theaters. Its (drum roll please)...The Possession!
Yes sir, based on a true story, this movie pulls us into the lives of a man and his daughters. Oh, the ex is involved too. During the girl's stay at their papa's house, the youngest Emily stumbles upon a neat wooden box at a yard sale and prompts her dad to get it for her. Soon she unleashes the horror that is locked inside the box and becomes the unwilling host to a demonic entity.
Now that you got the plot, here is what I have observed. This movie is...ok. It had very few scary moments. I mean the scenes that you see with the demon version of the daughter were ok. Not thrilling but nice. The girl was nice and creepy in her possession state. And the cool thing was that it wasn't another Catholic exorcism movie. It was a Jewish exorcism movie. Kind of nice to have something different for these types of movies for a change. I mean no offense to the Catholic exorcism types but there are just so many of them that they seem to run together. What was I leading to?..oh! My conclusion...
This movie was just ok. Some good creepy moments and in a way new idea. More of a suspense movie. But I wouldn't wait in line for this one when it comes out onto video. I will say this, the next time I see a horde of moths flying around, I'm gonna calmly turn around....and run!

N: Gosh. 25 dollar movie tickets. 5 dollar small drink. 5 dollar small popcorn. I now question about who is really possessed. Perhaps the movie employees have been brainwashed into charging so much in order to scare our pocket books to death. Oh wait that's not what I'm supposed to be reporting on. I mean that's horrifying, but in regards to the movie we just watched I would have to say that in retrospect it was an ok movie. Though this movie might be based on a true story; I think that whole true story deal has sort of gone state. Though I just happen to see a segment on TV about a real Dibbuk box so I guess some girl had become possessed.
So beware that within this strange box a demonic spirit prays on the innocent soul in order to find a new host. So if you find your child talking to a Dibbuk Box late at night then your going to be in a heap of trouble. And if you want to find out how to solve your possession dilemma then catch this horror/suspense thriller, but maybe not in a theater near you.
