Annabelle

D: Whats going bump in the night? Creepy little dolls that's what! Prepare for the movie that will make you look at dolls and run!
Kind of a prequel to the movie The Conjuring, Annabelle tells the origin story of the doll that comes to be possessed and terrorizes the family whose house it resides in.
This was a awesome movie! So many creepy moments. If you didn't like dolls before, you will just scream when you see them after this. The creepy thing is, that this is based on the true story of the doll called Annabelle that now resides at the famous Warrens in a glass case that is blessed twice every month. Seriously, look up the history of this doll. It is freaky! Dolls are the tools of evil! This movie proves it...

N: During the area of rising cults worshiping demons, a family becomes involved in a deeply disturbing event. Annabelle-a woman of flesh and blood intertwined in a cult movement becomes her own victim, but through the passing of death springs a new life and brings the rise of  a demonic presence followed by terror and death. The doll that has a deep-dark history follows this family and its corrupt nature brings only destruction. If you are afraid of dolls like the one in the movie then you should face your fear, but just don't spill your popcorn when the chills and fright attack you.

Immortality

D: A different spin on the whole vampire thing, its hard not to love this movie because who doesn't love Jude Law?
This is the story of a man who in order to live must drink the blood of his lovers. After he had finished with his latest victim, this charismatic vampire finds his latest lover in a young woman who just may steal his heart.
I can't say that I loved this movie, but I can't say I hated it. Jude Law gives a great performance, and Elina Lowensohn is wonderful. The story was interesting, but it had a few holes in it. One being, how he came to be the way he was. It was explained why he had to drink the blood of his lovers, but not his origin. I was more interested in that but none what so ever. Bummer. Still a better story than the current vampire movie trends. You know what I'm talking about. Sparkle sparkle.

N: In a world of his own between a reality that involves blood lust and seduction a abnormal vampire-beast must survive by immersing himself; so deeply in order to remain unchanged that he commits murder and is justly paced in the involvement of many deaths. Yet in the course of this film as I adored the concept and his decedent surroundings I feel that this flick fell rather short and with a unexplained reason for his long-lasting life, growing more tired-some. Perhaps I was lacking blood and needed to feast on the flesh.

Lizzie Borden

N: A gruesome double murder is committed at the Borden household; A murder has slain, wheeling a hatchet. Chopping and trashing the frightful-poetic images really pump up the heart. yet this film falls flat. Its broad strokes of imagery captivates, but the downfall is the modern day music that becomes annoying and pointless. The true case is interesting, nonetheless I'd watch something else....

D: I have not seen the legendary Christina Ricci in much lately. But, I wish that this wasn't what I saw.
This is the story of the well known Lizzie Borden and the murder of her father and step-mother. It shows the odd family life, the murders, and the trial.
Disappointed, doesn't even cover what I felt while watching this movie. I mean lets do better people. Did they just tell Ricci to sound like the worst liar? I didn't even believe that she was innocent. I don't even think that she believed that she was innocent. And what was up with that music? I think that was the worse of it. It gets you pumped yes, adding modern day music to a movie based in the 1800s, but it was just distracting. Let me save you an hour and thirty minutes; Lizzie Borden took an ax...to this movie...that's what happened.

Oculus

N: Step out of the mirror that for centenaries has been behind some very gruesome-mysterious deaths. But one family is on the verge of killing the so called entity that lives within. What may seem real becomes an obscured reality as brother and sister Kaylie and Tim become entrapped by the nightmare of the Oculus.
Yet in someways I was disappointed in the end result and still allot had not been explained. The flash backs got a little carried away, but over all you should not miss watching this flick.

D: A horror movie with so much promise, that makes you want to cry after watching it.
This scary story begins with the reunion of a sister and her little brother, after being separated for years after the murder of their parents. When reunited, the sister shows that she is obsessed with finding a mirror that she says is responsible for the death of her parents. Once they get their hands on the mirror, a number of odd occurrences, as well as random flashbacks, begin to submerge.
Now, I'm not saying that this movie was bad. In fact it was very entertaining and I would recommend seeing it. The only thing was that you only get a small history lesson on the mirror and its many victims, just not its true origin. Plus the flashbacks were just everywhere. But I guess it works. Tied everything together. Just that ending, yeesh. Always ending on a high note huh people?

Case 39

N: something not so human cause friction between Emily a social worker that's given a case of which leads her down a path of a strange and haunting reality. Between protecting an innocent girl and being pursued by a chilling presence.

D: Sometimes when you think your helping a helpless human, you become the one who need the help.
This is the story of a child case worker who thinks she is rescuing a sweet little girl whose parents seem to be abusive and withdrawn towards their child. But once the case worker takes it upon herself to care for the little girl, she quickly begins to think that maybe her parents had the right idea.
This was awesome! One, it stars the talented Renee Zellweger as the caring case worker, and it stars Jodelle Ferland who has played such memorable creepy little girl characters such as Mary from Kingdom Hospital and Sharon/Allessa from Silent Hill. This movie, though not so much scary as it is thrilling takes you on the most wild ride through the mind of evil disguised as an innocent little girl. Who says little girls are sweet? Not this chick.

The Believers

Dive into the Ritual voodoo practices that will cast hexes and curses upon you. Its an older film-with a okay cast. With a death of a family member Carl Jaminson must start his life over, while strange occurrences keep taking place Carl's Son becomes also involved in these underground world of voodoo practices.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

N: Never a big fan of Katie Holmes, but she fared in this movie. But the point is that paraphrase you should be afraid, that is of the dark. For in the trenches underground beneath a mansion with hidden and dark secretes; what I would call creatures stalk the family searching with a deadly passion to steal the soul. Uncover the truth.....

D: You see, most people are under the impression that fairy-tales are sweet and for children. This movie proves that's not the case.
A little girl named Sally, is sent to live with her father and his girlfriend in the Blackwood manor that they are fixing up to sell. She is soon thrust into a fairy tale nightmare as she is stalked by little creatures who wish to take her and make her one of them.
First, I love this director. He has some awesome movies out. Also, this is how most fairy tales are. Brothers Grimm, they had some of the darkest, bloodiest stories that were actually told to children. And this movie is awesome. The little girl is more human than the adults, more of a real character really. The creatures small and scary. The adults, clueless as to the terror that they are surrounded by. I highly recommend this movie. It will make you think twice about the beloved tales you heard as a child.

Dream House

N: Nothing is what it seems in this horror flick. Will Antenton played by Daniel Craig, a father raising two young girls finds him self on the verge of a mental breakdown. While he tries to uncover the truth of this house that he has just moved into a strange mystery begins to unravel. Someone is stalking them. A killer outside wanting nothing more than to get in. The house comes alive as if Wills memories or nightmares if you will come forth lashing out like a plague.

D: The mind can sometimes play games with us, making reality one thing when its another.
A man and his family move into a nice house, only to learn that it has a violent history. They become the victims of an invisible tormentor who is believed to be the murderer of the family that lived there before them. Things take a turn for the weird when the truth is revealed.
I think of this as the ghost story version of the Matrix. No take blue pill or red pill thing, but in the sense that reality is altered and nothing is as it seems. Its pretty trippy. I was like, 'glad I ain't stoned. This would freak the living crap out of me'. Its amazing what the mind can do...what if this aint real?? What if I'm actually a duck? Quack quack...

An American Ghost Story

N: I think after watching this flic; in some way I know I could have written a better screenplay let alone hired better actors with more feelings and guts to cover an ailing house that might be haunted. A man must uncover the truth about this house that has slain a family but the writer investigating really has no factual basis and spends all his time not doing research. Sure we see that the house is possessed by some force but I dare say the truth is really never understood.

D: Oh my gosh...the sheets are attacking!! Beware the bed sheets. That is the only thing partially interesting about this flick. But even that is so corny, they sell it at the county fair.
A writer wants to do a story on a haunted house, so he rents a haunted house to experience what its like to be scared by some pissed off spook.
I was so bored! All it was, was a dude trying to flush out ghost, and when he finally gets a taste, instead of calling it quits, he tries to push it further. And when the ghost does 'show' itself, its under a flipping sheet...a sheet people! And we don't even get a good story as to why the place is haunted. That's what makes a ghost story good. When we learn the history about the home. Cause usually its some messed up stuff. Also, if you want to scare me with a sheet, use some with Barney on it or something, cause that is even more scary than this movie all together.

Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money

N: I have to admit that I really could not sink my teeth into this film as I had down so in the first feature film of this series. Yes a few characters actors popped up like Danny Trejo, and Robert Patrick whom I both enjoy watching, but just not this film. In retro scope its just like everything was thrown into a horrible miss guided blood bath and when everything was said  and done only the sunrise is what saved the film. Saved it because it was finally over....

Children of the Corn

N: A town that has become abandoned captures an eerie  monstrous tale about a small boy named Isaac who has overthrown and corrupted the children into following his occult teachings. Zombie-like children in a foreplay of murder cast darkness into the town. Offerings are now made. The adults are all dead.
But a couple passing through now become targets of this group and while the children ensue the couple must stay a step ahead and though the corn becomes alive and the devil speaks though Isaac who will be the last to survive....

Day Breakers

N: An infection surges through the masses leading many to thirst for blood and though a solution has been devised still humans slumber in the day time only to emerge within the dark; moonlight cast down upon everyone who has become vampires. But while a breed of even darker and more dangerous vampires come out of hiding one man is left to uncover a way to reverse this terrible affliction.

D: Hooray!!! A vampire movie that doesn't suck! Its been to long. A unique take on a apocalyptic vampire ruled world that is as awesome as it could be.
Vampires rule the world, and humans are becoming extinct. Blood is running low, and those who do not get their needed blood become a cannibalistic vampire. Battling through homicidal vampires and humans alike, one vampire may have found something that may be the solution; a cure for vampireism.
I was unsure of this one I will admit. There had been so many bad vampire movies out there, but this one. It delivered, not only a great sequence of violence and blood, but also a good story line. Also Williem Dafoe, awesome!! And yes, Ethan Hawke was great too. Just watch it, you will not be disappointed.

Dark Touch

N: Even though some things about this flick fall into the unexplained and leaves you with only a vague interpretation, such events that draw to the final conclusion of this film still will leave you with an gritty feeling that shall cause you to wonder more about ghostly attachments. Thus, while a young girl must live with a devastating nightmare her reality becomes unhinged as those that abused her face a fatal end and whatever ghostly persuasions linger about this flick will leave you questioning....

D:  Huh? What the...wow...I am just stunned and a little bit on the confused side here. A good story, just some questions. Well not questions, but a need for assurance that my hypothesis is right.
We are introduced to the chaos and craziness of this movie when we witness the main character, a little girl, running as though her life depended on it. After being returned to her home. We are given the impression that her experiences are that of a haunting. It turns dark when she is able to make things happen when she is scared or feels threatened.
A good movie, but, I have so many questions. Like, did she have psychic powers that just came up after the trauma? Did they just come out of no where? If its obvious that she was abused, why not let the people who agree to take her in know so that they can try and not trigger anything? Plus, its obvious? Right? I mean once you see the movie you can put the pieces together yourself, but come on. Eh, what do I know. Other than if I see a group of kids looking creepy, I'm taking  the long way round.

Gothic

N: True ghost stories arise from the seething palpitations of imaginations that brew a intoxifying tonic. Thus, in the course of this flick a group of aristocrats over embellish themselves with a night of phantasms and sexual debauchery. Monsters lurk in the dark corners, haunting those that dwell in the madness; possessed by the alluring storms that not only wage outside but nonetheless wage within the soul.

D: Wow...I feel that I just went on some weird acid trip through time and ended up in some rich guys estate where they are having just as hard of time as I am.
This is the tale that basically gives us an inside view as to how the author Mary Shelly, became inspired to write her book, Frankenstein.
It, was, freaky! I mean, now a days we have internet, television, as well as other things to keep us entertained. Then, you had to use your imagination to keep yourself occupied. And boy howdy, did these people keep themselves occupied. At times I couldn't tell if it was real or all in their heads. If it was in their heads, they are more messed up than I am...and that's saying a lot. Plus I couldn't help but wonder, 'is that what the rich people back then did for fun? Huh, the wills and fancy's of the posher classes'.

Silence of the Lambs

N: Always a great rate flick when you want to watch someone gnaw on someone..oh the taste of flesh between your blood soaked teeth. Yummy. Thus, while agent Clarice is brought in to solve a case she must summon her courage to face a psychopathic killer isolated behind  glass that makes up his current prison.
Its a race against time as more woman become abducted by a known serial killer Buffalo Bill only Hannible (the one that eats brains and flesh) while assisting Clarice attempts to find a way to free himself.

Thale

D: Not much of a scary movie, but its different. You get a nice look and twist, in to Norwegian folklore.
We follow Elvis and Leo, a couple of crime scene clean up guys who discover Thale. A young woman who is living in a basement. She doesn't speak, and she seems to of been part of an experiment. Though she looks human, Leo and Elvis soon learn that there is more to her than meets the eye. In fact, she maybe a huldra, a legendary woman who has a cow tail.
I actually highly recommend this movie. It seems a bit slow in the beginning, but the story line is wonderful. It makes you wonder what is out there in the forests, hiding from us because of our own fears and selfish desires to alienate anything that doesn't seem to fit in our world. I mean, who wouldn't want a creature that can heal a person of sickness and other ailments to exist?

N: Military experiments are conducted when an abnormal girl is captured in the woods. But some years later Thale is discovered alone and an ensuing mystery unravels as two men try and uncover the truth of what this woman really is. Between her bizarre behavior and a third party baring down with heavy arms; tries to recapture Thale. However, with inhuman strength Thale leaps into action stopping until all is safe in the Norwegian woods.

Kiss of the Damned

N: Kiss me darling and make me one of the children of the night. In this masterpiece (remake) a secrete gathering of vampires troll and forge for victims to continue with eternal life. Yet as one woman Djuna lures a young hansom man into her web and soon enough both are enjoying the eternal thralls of life. But other factors disrupt the easy going life style and throw Djuna and her lover into a chaotic downfall.

D: Ah, a vampire movie where the vampires are a mix of the sophisticated and the blood thirsty.
Djuna takes a lover and makes him as she is. She teaches him the ways of the vampire and soon he is swept away into her world. But their happiness is soon disturbed, when her sister, a wild blood thirsty killer of a vampire, comes to town. Djuna's lover soon learns that just because your immortal now, doesn't mean you are free of family drama and temptations.
Blood, violence, and sex. That's how a vampire love story is suppose to be. And this movie delivers. Its more than that though. Its a good story line and great characters. Sure, its not action packed, but its got some fiery vampire drama. And lets face it, its nice to watch every now and then. So grab the red wine and cheetos, and sit back and enjoy the bloody vampire drama.

Exorcismus

N: When you play around with witchcraft you shall feel the burn of evil spawning within your soul. A young girl faces an internal struggle as a demon takes over her mind and body forcing her to cause a great rift between her family. But the question is who is really pulling the strings and what had caused this possession?

D: So exorcist movies...we meet again. This time, its in England.
A girl feels something is not right when she starts having weird things happen around her. Her mood swings are more aggressive than your average teenager, she blacks out and has almost a personality change, and for some reason she just isn't comfortable with crosses. She realizes that she may be possessed and asks her Uncle, a priest to help her. Soon, her and her agnostic family are thrown in to a spiritual battle for her soul.
The movie was a nice change for a movie about exorcisms. You get to see how and why the girl gets possessed. The reason behind it is unspeakable. It also confirms what my mama always said, 'don't draw weird symbols in blood. Ya never know whats gonna come through'.

Blade

N: An all out war brewing between vampires and a day walker, (not your Twilight girly vampires) but a ball breaking immortal that feeds not on human blood but on causing afflictions with his immortal enemies. I do enjoy the theatrics of this flick, but overall it sort of gets tiresome. And I'll say now that I had very mixed feelings about the Blade squeals.

D: This is more of a tribute really. I've watched this a bajillion times that it borders on obsessed.
Blade, a epic day walker is hunting down the vampires that roam the city streets in the hopes to one day find the one who bit his mother, causing him to become a half breed before he was even born. He is joined with his guardian Abraham Whistler, a seasoned vampire hunter who found him and trained him. They are joined by Karen. A doctor that Blade saved from a vampire attack. She seeks to find a cure after getting bitten. Together they hunt down Deacon Frost, a rogue vampire determined to enslave mankind. Let the bloody battle begin!
Action, violence, and a sexy bloody good time can be yours in this movie. Wesley Snipes does a excellent job in this movie. He is proof that vampire hunters are some of the baddest and best ever! So if your into that whole teeny bopper, Twilighty, vampire thing by all means enjoy yourself, really. But if your looking for fun, excitement, and real vampire action....Blade! Blade is your man.

Happy House

N: An extra special vacation at a hidden away B&B is just what might be needed to renew your relationship, but be aware that anything can happen. The owner; an older woman that has a strange set or rules, if caught consequences just might be the end of you. But while the couple on this retreat try and have a relaxing time a man emerges with murderous intentions. After all the entire film falls apart and makes me never want to go to a bed and breakfast.

D: I never understood why anyone would go to a B&B. And thanks to this movie, I never will. Welcome to Happy House.
So a couple decide to go to this little Bed and Breakfast for vacation. Once there, the wife figures something is not quite right. The owner, a older lady seems like a control freak, and her son seems a bit slow and creepy. Soon, the couple has to worry about other things like, other patrons hitting on wife, wife being dramatic, a crazed killer on the loose, and no blueberry muffins! How will they ever survive?
I will admit that this movie had some good twists. Like, the crazy people are not actually the crazy people. Bit of a spoiler alert but you get the message I'm sure. The thing is though, the movie looks like a amateur film makers best effort. Also, these guys keep making mistakes over and over again. Plus, who the frack wants to have sex when there is a psycho killer in the house? Seriously? You think your life is going to end so you want to get a quickie in? Tell ya what, you go distract the lunatic with your sexy time, and I'll run for my life.

American Horror Story: Asylum

N: Welcome to Brier Cliff. Its a nice quite place for those wanting to escape the ordinary daily demands of life, but in order to be admitted you just have to be deemed insane. Indeed, more goes on at this asylum. Secrete human experiments. Extraterrestrial events. Possession and those that try to defy the nuns end up in solitaire. But not lets forget the angle of death. Her kiss is a lasting affair.  But yet another character arises in this horrifying flick that will make you feel like your skin is peeling away from your body.

D: Can aliens, nuns, crazed killers, an insane asylum, and possession make a good horror series for TV? Yes it can! And Brier Cliff has it all.
If it isn't the secret experiments, its the alien abductions and sane people being thrown in with the crazies. In this, we follow the lives of a convicted murderer, a nun with a over zealous thirst for righteousness, and a reporter who lands herself in Brier Cliff when she tries to get a good story. We witness the weird, creepy, and questionable throughout this neato series.
As usual, American Horror Story spikes our interest and keeps us on our toes to the very end. And has the same song playing in the insane lounge room over and over again. For the love of the aliens, change the record! Yeesh.

Troll Hunter

N: Deep in the woods something inhuman dwells here in the trolls roam, feasting and forging for human food. In this mocumentery a group teams up with a man that must keep these over sized trolls at bay. Its entertaining to say the least. The effects are well enough not to make me disappointed.

D: Ok, this is different. Instead of a mockumentary focusing on ghosts and demons, this one is going after...TROLLS! Kind of refreshing.
So, a group of college kids go to see if there is a poacher of bears because someone seems to be killing them for no reason. Instead, they learn of the existence of trolls and follow the assigned hunter who is responsible for keeping them not only a secret, but also keeping them in line.
Not a bad movie. The different trolls were neat, and the way they killed them if need be, very interesting. Though I wouldn't buy it, I do recommend it for a Saturday night with a bowl of cookie dough ice cream. Now if you'll excuse me...here troll, here little ugly troll.

Black Forset

N: Well let me just say that this was a huge miss. A movie called Back Forest should be a thrilling-pulse throbbing flick, but it was so horrible. Flat-Lame acting and bad effects made me feel an un-welcomed sensation. Like get me out of here now. Though, I enjoy the fairy tales like Brothers Grimm; that we all grew up this movie made our beloved tales flat line like a heart attack. Not a move to watch.

D. Welcome to our blog. Today we are critiquing, Black Forest. A movie that I guess was shown on SyFy. Lets get a move on with this boring flick.
Its a twist on the fairytales we know. A group of people are invited to take a tour of a forest that is the gateway to the realm of the fairy folk. When the only baby in the group is taken, the race is on to find her and defeat the evil.
Zzzzzzz. Huh? Oh, right...ahem. That's how I felt when watching this crap flick. I swear I've never been so bored. I didn't care for the acting, the story, or even watching the movie. All I was asking was 'how much longer'? Let me save you two hours of your life; they find the baby, and defeat the evil. The End.

Hemlock Grove

N: In a small town more is happening that one might know. A clash of wealthy family and a simple-simplistic gypsy family returning home; both families hold some dark and disturbing secretes. A fight spars between everyone; the woods become deadly for a werewolf lingers in the shadows and at the mansion of the wealthy family vampires seek nourishment. Season one was fantastic and can't wait until season two. Also Landon Liboiron playing as the one of the gypsy wares the exact goose neck flight jacket that I own-inhered from my father!

D: A nice series of werewolves if I ever saw. I had been hoping for a good werewolf movie. I'll settle for a series. This one has gypsies, werewolves, and vampires! Awesome.
My counterpart has already explained the plot so on to the critique!
Like I said before, awesome. The twists and turns that this movie has keeps you on your toes. Plus, the scene when you see the kid turn into a werewolf, ooohhh so pretty. Though he just turns into a regular wolf, nothing anthropomorphic like, but the transformation, *drool*, lovely. Watch this, you know you want to.

Jug Face

D: Finally, something that has a darn good story that makes you raise your eyebrows and drop your jaw in disbelief.
This story focuses on a small community in the south who seem to worship a being that resides in a pit. This being speaks to a potter who creates jugs that resemble a persons face, and this person is to be sacrificed to the pit. When a teenage girl discovers she is next, she freaks out and hides the jug, which releases a killing spree by the spirit that calls the pit home.
This is a nice change. Full of suspense, blood, and a good story line that keeps you on your toes. I mean, the jugs are beautiful works of art, yet they are a sign that the person is going to be sliced open over a muddy pit. That's a crazy way to go. 'Hey I created this beautiful jug with your face on it. That means you are going to die'. Classic.

N: Your number will be up when the potter who is a member of a long-lived cult molds a jug depicting a members face. Thus, you become a sacrifice to a sacred pit, which has an ability to heal. But one girl takes matters into her own hands and tries to flee from the cult. But her attempts are meet with harshness and so you must watch in order to discover the final outcome.

Abandoned Mine

D: What in the name of the Vampire Chronicles was this?? Am I just going insane? Who would allow this to even be conceived?
Long story short, teenage friends go to haunted mine for Halloween. Friends get trapped in the mine. Friends run from ghosts of mine only go get bumped off one by one. Only things are not what they seem.
Sounds typical and unbearably looooonnggg. I lost interest in the first thirty minutes. Cause that's how long the beginning is. We get it, leader is a jerk, big friend is a gross jock, weird girl use to have thing for leader, I get it. Plus, who is so stupid, that they don't know the difference between the original people of America aka American Indians/Native Americans, to Indians from India? How stupid is that? Too long, too confusing. That's sums up this flick.

N: A typical Halloween night with some camping and a visit to an mine that holds a gruesome history. So what do these teenagers do. well in an attempt to seek out the ghosts long trapped in the mine they enter and fall into a devious trap. So while the group go deeper into the cave system; after a long boring duration with no amusing insights we discover a truth of this Halloween night.

Red Lights

N: Red Lights draws on the paranormal physic phenomenon, and with this great cast of actors the heart pounding drama in this thriller takes hold and will not let go until the very end. Enjoyed the opening credits as I do enjoy special effects and such. Though, a few scenes become a little being drawn out.

Fright Night

N: An instant cult classic comes your way, with spooky thrills and awesome 1980's  special effects that will gnaw at your heart and leave you limp with fear. A young high school student that seems far more interested in the things that go bump in the night stumbles upon a man that appears normal, but under the ageless skin lurks a demon of the night. Fright night brings back those boy hood memories of wanting to leave the light on and fearing that something offal is creeping out of the shadows; across the room to suck your blood.

D: Ah, the 80s. When vampires were hardcore monsters that didn't shimmer in the light. That's right, I'm dissing Twilight...still.
Back in the 1980s a young boy in high school witnesses his new neighbor feasting off a woman (who is totally topless). He tries to warn his friends but of course, they won't believe him. So it is up to him to rid the town of this seductive, blood thirsty vampire, who likes sweaters.
A classic. Simply a classic. Though some of the effects are cheesy as provolone, it is still magnificent. The makeup effects on the vampires are just awesome, the story is great, its just the bees knees kids. Anyone who appreciates horror classics will fall in love with this ruby. Makes you wonder, what is with these kids and peeping into windows? You'd think by now they would learn. Peep into a window and you will be hunted by sexy vampire man in sweaters. Tremble at the sweater!

Entity

N: An average group of film makers gather at the edge in a remote forest to seek a place that may have paranormal activity and a sinister past. One woman, Ruth Peacock claims to be a psychic and can feel the presence of lost souls that had been taken in a horrible fashion. But as the group gathers at an abandoned facility the truth comes out and while a vengeful ghost stalks them its only a matter of time from my view point that none will make it out alive. Despite the harshness of this flick some of the effects- considering the vengeful spirit was engrossing.

D: In a way refreshing; a movie that's a mixture of mockumentary and traditional filming. I know its probably been done before but lets not debate, lets review.
Ok, read what my counterpart has written...got the plot? Ok lets begin our critique.
Now this was a pretty decent idea. Spirits that are trapped due to the trauma of death, military secrets, and one spirit that is really pissed off and goes on a rampage. Not bad. Some scary moments. Its just the whole, things left in the air and your left with more questions. There was a good lesson in this one though; when the psychic says, 'we need to leave', and she is a legit psychic...leave! Pissed off ghosts are not worth the ratings if it means your demise.

Apartment 1303

N: A hell bend ghost arises from the past holding a grudge against the new girl that just moved into Apartment 1303. The young inexperienced girl falls into a nightmare of being persecuted by the ghost and finds no refuge. Like a lot of remakes, this film fell short. Did not explain why some of the people had died in this apartment and I got tired of being dragged through horrible dislodge.

D: Another haunted apartment story. Another mysterious death. Another creepy neighbor. That explains this little slice of ghosts. But just so you know...
A girl who had just moved out of her mother's house moves into an apartment that is the property of a crazy ghost. This ghost goes on to terrify this girl who doesn't seem to get the hint that its time to move out.
Just an FYI, this movie is a USA remake. The original is actually...get ready...Japanese! Go figure. Other than that, there is not much special about this flick. Other than you kind of get a perspective of the ghosts point of view. I'll actually save you an hours worth of your life...everybody dies and nothing is resolved. The end.

The Haunting

N: After a few moments I realize that I have seen this film, but it had been ages ago. For the most part it has an entertainment quality. The visualization draws you in, and though I enjoy the characters (the actors for that matter) I feel that the script lacked a few things. It did not seem to me that Dr. David Marrow (played by Liam Neson) never fully developed a solid concept for his experiment.  Yes fear can drive anyone to the verge of pain, but he never fully solved the insomnia for his subjects. Of course I have not seen the originals 1963 film, so perhaps I should.

D: Oh haunted mansions, you are always the go to for a good haunting. Well, semi good haunting.
The story of a woman named Nell who after eleven years of caring for her disabled mother, goes out into the world to be part of a experiment for insomnia. Only its the old bait and switch; its actually for fear. After the group gets together, strange things begin to happen in this awesome mansion. Soon the evils of the past are revieled and all types of weird begin to happen.
This is all I have to say about this movie...its ok. More for background noise really. That is all.

Odd Thomas

N: A Fuel pumping driven flick coupled with a hilarious action that will leave you wanting more. Odd as he has been named has a special gift of being clairvoyant. While he tries to hold his life together he stumbles upon a plot that well may be the ending of a small town. Strange phantoms stalk Odd. An underground cult. And a beautiful girl makes this a must see. In fact if I stumble upon this flick at Everyday I'll be sure to buy a copy, and I'll now be sure to read the book written by Dean Koontz!

D: Wow! That's all I can say is wow. I will admit that when I was told this was the movie we were going to see, I was skeptical. But within the first five minutes, I was hooked!
This guy has the sixth sense and uses it to help those ghosts who need justice. He even helps the local police with unsolved murders. Soon he is put to the test when he begins to have visions of death and destruction and must put the pieces together, or otherwise all hell will break loose.
This is a movie that needs to be seen. I mean it may not be a oober scary movie, but it doesn't have to be. Its a great action/thriller with a excellent story line. I recommend it beyond the max. I'm just glad I'm not clairvoyant. If I saw what this guy see's every day. Just take me to the loony bin. I'd rather be bouncing off the walls with a straight jacket than see those things. Yuck!

The Secrete Village

N: I'm on the verge of shouting up for someone to wake me up from this nightmare. What a god offal flick. It appears that a young woman travels to a town to uncover a secrete cult that practices which craft and has been around for many generations. Its a great idea. But I give it low marks. Horrible music and low budget scenes make me feel sick. Not scary or gut wrenching at all. And whats even more outlandish is that this film has over a thousand likes on FB.

Haunting of Connec 2

N: Creepy Scary stuff I would have to say. But I digress. Yes another true based flick comes alive in a somewhat terrifying chaos; on a country property that has a hidden past a family arrives to make the homestead a place worth living, but the family begins to face mysterious haunting. These haunting tear the family apart and God only hopes they can survive.

D: Based on a true story. That's what makes any movie interesting. Especially horror movies. This one delivered.
A family with their own issues move to a nice place in the country, only its not so nice. Turns out there is some angry spooks seeking someone to avenge them and hear their story. And the only one who seems to want to listen is the daughter of the family. This only puts her in real danger.
Not a bad piece of entertainment. It actually makes you want to pick up a history book (or cruise the internet) to figure out some facts. A decent movie to curl up with a beer and beef jerky.

The Quite Ones

N: Another documentary arises from the ashes of the past. A true based horror flic that takes you all the way to the near breaking point. A prominent, but obsessed professor Joseph Coupland (played by the ideal actor Jared Harris) gathers a group to interview a young girl that presents paranormal possessions. As the days continue under the isolation of the experiments the future and lives of the team become a life and death battle.

D: We are BACK!! After a long time of no posts, we have returned from the abyss to bring you the newest movie in theaters; The Quiet Ones. Its another movie based on true events that happened in the 1970s.
A professor is trying to find a cure for a tortured young woman who seems to be possessed by a spirit named Evy. The professor and his crew try with various experiments to rid the girl of what they believe to be made up by the patient only to get caught up in a world of supernatural.
This is not a bad movie. Its actually very entertaining and kind of goes into the psychology of the paranormal, giving it a scientific twist. You know from the start that this girl is somehow possessed of this nasty spirit, and all through the movie you are hoping that the professor and crew finally figure it out. It has a nice twist at the end and makes you wonder about the actual events that inspired this movie. There is only one thing I'd like to know...what is with the spirit vomit?? Is split pea soup not good enough for people anymore? Yeesh...

Ghost Buster

N: As its said time after time and never gets old..."Who you going to Call?" Well I call this a fantastic flick that has all the comedy and ghostly-demon like creatures coming to fruition. The characters in this flick work so well together that you just want to join these old school ghost hunters. I love the old school-high tech gizmo's that they use or have invented to search into the paranormal.
